This week I returned to Adda in Long Island City for the n-teenth time. Now I should tell you, I’m a huge fan of Indian food. You can usually find me scrounging for leftovers at my sister’s apartment, whose wonderful mother-in-law has taught her how to cook some seriously amazing north Indian dishes. While I love authentic Indian home cooking, it’s also one of my favorite foods to go out for. The smells, the spices, the sharing – it’s the best. I’m also a sucker for destination dining. So when I heard rumblings of this spot in Long Island City, I couldn’t get there fast enough. Here I am years later, going back again and again. Adda doesn’t disappoint, in fact, it keeps getting better.
👯♀️ Go with a group. There are so many amazing things on the menu that you are going to want to try.
🎼Really fun environment with great Indian music and wallpaper made from old Indian newspapers.
🍻Adda has beer + wine, but you can also BYOB (for a small fee)!
🐐The goat biryani is worth the Instagram hype (I hate myself).
🤤 I personally loved the baingan bharta (not oily and perfectly spicy) and the chili paneer tikka (not drowning in cream like almost all nyc indian spots)!
⏰Adda is great, but not the kind of place that lets you take your time or linger after you are done.
XT SAYS: Go!
